FAQs
Why do you use End Grain pieces in your boards?
End grain provides a more durable surface and allows for more pattern interest. It also provides a gentle surface for knives while being durable enough for daily use.
How do you pick wood for a project?
Each species of wood has unique properties like color, grain pattern, and workability.
Sometimes the goal is to create high contrast piece, sometimes to be a quieter more minimalist piece. Some pieces require a specific type of wood to meet the customers goals of color, function or style.
The beauty of wood is that each piece has personality that can marry with the function needed.
How do I get a custom cutting board?
Reach out to us! Review the web site and let us know in the message if there is a style and/or color combination you are drawn to. Also mention what rough size you would like. Bar size or holiday turkey size? We have many customers who order immense boards and others who want something special to use and display in a particular area.
Once we receive your email we will reach out to discuss specifics.
How long does it take to get a custom piece?
The short answer is - it depends. The complexity of the project, availability of materials and current order load factor into time frame. Custom boards typically take a shorter amount of time based on complexity, size and materials. Circle Tri-Tables typically take 1-2 months and custom furniture varies by piece. Reach out to us and we will give you our current lead times.
Is a Circle Tri-Table with two different types of wood on the top and legs available?
Many of our customers make that request! We offer individual woods standard but often customize. Please reach out via our “Contact Us” tab to discuss customization options. Also, check out our Misfit tables - they are a tongue in cheek use of woods from prototypes that those looking for eclectic statements appreciate.
Are your products made in the USA?
Hand crafted in America! Our products feature domestically sourced sustainable woods or, in custom scenarios, sustainably sourced exotic woods.
